Your New Bill of Rights

In 1944, Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt proposed a Second Bill of Rights, as he believed the First Bill of Rights "proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness.” Today, I believe that the rights afforded to us by our government are proving inadequate again, so I propose a New Bill of Rights that will guide what I fight for on behalf of my constituents. You have the right to:

Leadership that shows up with the same fighting spirit as you.

Open doors to under-represented communities.

Reasonable, stable prices on every day things.

Safe, clean streets of the highest global standard.

Personal freedom in who you are, how you live, and who you love.

Actual government efficiency before raising taxes.

A high-functioning border with legal, respectful immigration.

Housing like we mean it.

Dependable Social Security, because it is already your money.

Healthcare services and monthly premiums at a reasonable cost.

Access to your political leaders, because voters are the boss of us.

Confidence that our democracy will still be here in the morning.
