Stop Kidnappings and Strengthen Legal Immigration
I know America is a land of immigrants because my great-grandparents were also immigrants. We will stop treating immigrants as criminals and hold individuals who break laws fully accountable via lawful enforcement.
1. Stop kidnappings at the grocery store. Without Congressional funding, ICE agents can’t kidnap people off our streets without due process. One of Congress’s first orders of business will be to return ICE to its proper role of enforcing legal immigration and focusing on serious public-safety threats.
2. Pass binding enforcement laws. I will fight to codify what procedures ICE must follow — instead of leaving it up to the White House. These include: focus on violent offenders first, enforce due process, stop racial profiling, and eliminate mass raids.
3. Use the power of my office to hold people accountable. I will advocate for calling ICE leaders before committees under oath to force transparency and accountability. If you broke the law, you will be held accountable.
4. Whatever ICE broke, ICE will fix. I’ll call for ICE to reunite families and compensate those harmed. That will be funded through civil penalties and settlements collected from private contractors who violated rights.
