Healthcare

Problem: Healthcare is broken and Congress has been ineffective at fixing it: premiums are out of control, insurance doesn’t cover near enough, and your entire healthcare strategy becomes hoping you don’t get sick, or hoping you’ll get better.

Action: When I’m elected, I will introduce the Stop Worrying About Your Healthcare Act to do the following:

  1. Cap premium hikes for three years, and then match hike increases to inflation so families don’t have to choose between rent and health coverage.

  2. Demand $50 urgent care visit for everyone. So you have access to a doctor when you need it.

  3. Extend Medicare-negotiated prescription costs to the ACA. If Medicare folks can get a better price, so should you.

  4. End surprise medical bills. For all procedures, just like any other transaction a consumer enters into with a business.

  5. Mandate insurance companies pay 85% of premiums on patient care, up from 80%.

We shouldn’t have to choose between fighting cancer and fighting insurance companies, and when I get to Congress, this is the change I’ll fight for.
